Peterson Army Air Field T-shirt

Colorado Springs Airport was taken over by the AAF in May 1942 as an air support command base. Exactly one year later, the headquarters of the 2nd Air Force moved there. In honor of Lieutenant Edward Joseph Peterson, killed in an accident on this base in December 1942, the airfield was renamed Peterson Field in 1943. The base was used for training purposes.
